Thank you to Kate Lombardo, Executive Director of The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, for presenting to the Wilton Woman's Club in January.

Lower Fairfield County is an area of affluence and families here pay many people for helpful services. People live near work, and wages go to pay the high rents of this area, with little left over for food.

Imagine knowing that you cannot provide food for your children. Then you find you can go to your local food pantry and get food there.  The cost per pound of food that The Food Bank purchases, to give to food pantries, is increasing, as we have all seen at our grocery stores. Please donate to help The Food Bank help our local families who are in significant need

From WWC member Karen Tartell, about picking up food from the The Food Bank and bringing it to the Wilton Food Pantry: "I wanted you to know how much it’s meant to me to be able to do the food runs. They (The Food Bank) are a well-run organization and I always feel like it’s such an important task to go get that food!  Their staff on-site at the warehouse has been so competent and so helpful the times I’ve been there."
