About the Event

Women of Revolutionary Wilton at Hillside Cemetery – Monday, May 4 at 1:30 p.m. – No Cost:

In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, Hillside Cemetery put together a walking tour specifically around women who sustained Wilton during America’s fight for independence, keeping their households, their community and their hopes for the future alive. Pam Brown, the Cemetery Administrator, has agreed to lead a guided tour especially for the Wilton Woman’s Club. We’ll visit eight women’s graves and hear their stories – how the women who remained in Wilton 250 years ago kept up their homes, farms and families in the face of war and uncertainty. Wear comfortable shoes for walking on grass. Stay left as you drive in the driveway (165 Ridgefield Road) and park on the gravel in front of the Cremation Memorial Garden. Then walk up the center road and meet the group by the flagpole…
